Decorate you space

Baton Rouge – November 2015
The anthropology of science sometimes feels like the anthropology of the corporate world. In order to conduct participant observation I need a cubicle and a PC (eek!). I’m not really into putting up personal items here, but when a hydrological modeler from the 20th floor came by and examined my non-decorated space I realized that I need more than paper and computers to fit into the cultural milieu of this place. Need more than post-its, coffee, and pens to fit in. Conversation starters for ‘water cooler’ talk. This is coastal science.
